Rolling Stones – Rich Stadium, Buffalo 1981

On September 27, 1981, the Rolling Stones brought their Tattoo You tour to Rich Stadium in Orchard Park, just outside Buffalo, in front of a crowd of more than 75,000. Mick Jagger worked the huge stage in his No. 21 football jersey, giant silk streamers whipped in the afternoon wind, and Keith Richards, Ronnie Wood, Bill Wyman and Charlie Watts were in full swing.

I was 18, and this was the show that started my rock and roll photography career. These black-and-white frames were shot on film from the front of the stage that day.
